Authors are requested to carefully follow the guidelines given below while preparing and submitting manuscripts for publication in Progressive Agriculture – An International Journal, published by the Society for Recent Development in Agriculture (SRDA).
Progressive Agriculture publishes original research papers, review articles and short communications covering agricultural sciences and allied disciplines. Manuscripts should communicate scientifically sound research findings and contribute to the advancement and dissemination of agricultural knowledge.
Original research presenting scientifically valid experimental findings and their interpretation.
Critical and comprehensive synthesis of available scientific information on important agricultural topics.
Concise reports containing significant scientific observations or research findings.
Full-length research papers should normally not exceed 8–10 typed pages, including tables and illustrations.
Review articles may extend to approximately 15–20 typed pages.
Short communications should normally be limited to 3–5 typed pages.
The manuscript should be prepared in clear English and typed with double spacing.
Authors should carefully check numerical data, calculations, scientific names, tables and references before submission.
Manuscripts should be thoroughly revised by the authors before being submitted for editorial consideration.
The title should be brief, specific and informative. Scientific names should be presented appropriately in italics.
Names of all authors should be given clearly without academic degrees or titles.
Provide the address of the institution where the research work was carried out.
A concise abstract of the principal findings and important conclusions should be provided and should normally not exceed 250 words.
The abstract should be followed by relevant keywords. A maximum of 10 keywords may be used.
The introduction should briefly describe the background, importance and objective of the study. Extensive or unrelated literature review should be avoided.
Describe experimental materials, design, methodology, observations and techniques sufficiently to allow scientific evaluation of the work.
Results and Discussion should preferably be combined. Avoid repeating identical information in text, tables and figures. Discuss the significance of the observations in relation to relevant research.
Acknowledge significant technical assistance and financial support received from institutions, organizations or funding agencies.
References should correspond with citations appearing in the manuscript and should follow the journal's prescribed reference format.
Tables should be numbered consecutively and provided with concise and informative titles. Data presented in tables should not be unnecessarily repeated in the text or figures.
Figures and illustrations should be clear and suitable for publication. Figure captions and legends should clearly explain the information presented.
Photographs should be of publication quality. Colour photographs may involve additional printing charges where applicable.
Illustrations should be prepared at an appropriate size and quality so that all labels, symbols and graphical information remain clearly readable after publication.
References should be cited in the text by numbers in brackets and listed according to the order in which they are cited. Authors should ensure that all references are complete and accurate.
